Whether you are a seasoned golfer or a terminology challenged beginner, it matters not. Players of all skill level and experience find golf to simultaneously present them with opportunities and challenges. Before hitting the links, check out the following tips for a little insight to give your game an edge.
Golf clubs have a point known as the “sweet spot.” If the ball is hit at this point, it will fly true. Pracitce using your clubs until you become familiar with the “sweet spot” of each one. Remember, you should strike the ball with this “sweet spot” at the very end of a downward swing.
If possible, play with good players and watch their techniques. There are myriad ways to improve your own game by observing a more experienced golfer. He or she doesn’t need to be a professional golfer in order for you to obtain some good advice on the subject. If you take careful note of their style, you may find inspiration and motivation for your own game.
Stretch before playing and stay hydrated. As with any sport, better physical conditioning can lead to better performance.

Always start each swing with your feet in proper alignment. This is the best way to improve your swing and it is such a simple and easy thing to do. Your feet need to be perpendicular and lined up straight to the way you need the ball to go. A way of accurately determining this is lining the golf club up beside your feet. The golf club end will point in the direction of the ball travel.
Try to line the end of your foot up with the golf ball when you drive. But for other swings, the ball should be at a median point between your right and left foot. The only exception to this stance is when the ball is on a slope.
Do not assume a golfing stance that feels unnatural to you. One way to find a comfortable groove, is to practice different stances without using a club. Stand up while flexing your knees, bend them slightly at your waist and have your arms drop right on your front. When you clap your hands, hold them there. This is what a natural position is, so if you don’t feel comfortable with it, you are most likely overcompensating the position.
Now that you have taken the initiative to learn something new about the sport of golf, you can impress your golfing buddies (or that gorgeous pro shop attendant) with the information you’ve just picked up. Look for new ways to apply these skills to your current game, to make the game even more challenging and engaging.
