Smart Tips To Build Up Your Golf Game Updated for 2025

Updated: February 1, 2025

TIP! Get more from your time on the course by walking it instead of driving. This turns your golf outing into an exercise outing, as well, which will do wonders for your health if you golf every week.

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve played golf for years or are completely new to the game. Regardless of your skill level, find new ways to improve your golf game. Read the following ideas to learn more about how you can improve your golf game.

TIP! It is a great idea to consult with a golf pro prior to investing in new clubs or other equipment. These pros will have up-to-date information regarding the newest clubs available.

A smart piece of golf advice is to pass on renting a cart, and instead walk the course. You will get more exercise, which in turn is great for your health! Walking also keeps your muscles loose and warm.

TIP! When you are golfing, your body plays an important role. Use your entire body as a power source, rather than just your arms.

To get a strong swing going, you have to use all of your muscles, particularly your trunk and legs. Swing your body around like a whip as you swing, and draw power from your legs pushing against the ground.

TIP! When first learning to play, it is best to get the correct grip on the club. Many people think gripping a club hard can make the ball go further.

Don’t hold your club too tightly or too loosely. If your shots tend to veer off on the right, you might be holding your club too tightly. Conversely, if you’re holding your golf club too loosely, your ball will veer to the left. Use what directions your shots go to find the appropriate middle ground in your grip.

To better your skills, stand in the proper position. Your posture usually determines the distance the ball will travel. Erect posture will help you hit the ball farther.

TIP! If you are right-handed, swing the putter with the left hand in front of the ball at the point of impact. Maintain your stance while swinging your club.

Before you purchase a pre-owned club, you should first carefully inspect the club head. If there is a shiny, worn spot on the club, it means it’s been used too much. This kind of wear can seriously affect your shots.

TIP! Make sure you do get plenty of stretching in and hydrate yourself sufficiently. Taking care of yourself is always important, but it can also help you improve your game.

As you swing, quickly swing your hips so you transfer the weight from your back foot to your front foot. Shifting your weight in this manner makes your swing much more powerful, which in turn drives the ball further down the course.

TIP! Use your entire body to put power into your swing. Although you swing the club with your arms, your legs and torso provide the most strength to your swing.

Hit the ball squarely with the club’s face. Doing this will help your ball to go straight. Not squaring your club with the ball will cause it to go in a direction you didn’t intend it to go in. Vary your grip on the club and monitor the results until you zero in on a technique that allows you to hit the ball at that perfect 90 degree angle.

TIP! Don’t get caught trying to have an abnormal posture. Work on addressing without holding a club.

Work around the problem if you can’t easily find a way to solve it. It might even prove advantageous to you as a player and create a distinct playing style for you.

TIP! Stand about three or five feet behind your golf ball and view where you want it to go. Be sure to also consider other factors such as the wind.

Now that you have taken the initiative to learn something new about the sport of golf, you can impress your golfing buddies (or that gorgeous pro shop attendant) with the information you’ve just picked up. Look for new ways to apply these skills to your current game, to make the game even more challenging and engaging.

Don’t just take our word for it!

"The "Draw" System has improved my consistency. I am able to keep my drives on the fairway with more distance which makes my second shot easier while approaching the green.

The biggest benefits The "Draw" System has done for my game is to increase distance and accuracy with all shots. The "Draw" System has increased my distance on all shots by 15 to 30 yards! Thirty yards with the driver all the way down to 15 with the sand wedge.

What I liked the best about The "Draw" System is that it works! I have tried all types of gadgets and read tips from all different magazines as well as taken lessons. None of them worked. Not until I found The "Draw" System.

I have seen different systems which claim to fix your golf slice but none of these have worked for me. The "Draw" System works! In it are easy to follow instructions and there are very good pictures for a visual explanation to go along with the print.

I enjoy playing golf more since completing The "Draw" System because I can predict where my shots are going instead of wondering where my shots will end up. Thank You!!!"

"My fairway woods are now much more consistent in distance and much straighter, both off the tee and from the fairway. Also my mid iron shots are more consistent than in the past.

This system helped me to learn to put all the pieces together to know what a good swing should feel like. Whereas in the past someone might give me a good piece of advice, but I never had it in the context of a whole solid swing. And now I'm finally gaining confidence with my swing.

The instructions were easy to follow. The pictures added a lot of clarity to what you were looking to emulate. The "Draw" System gives you a step by step approach to building a good, solid, repeatable golf swing. All the drills are geared towards that singular goal of producing a swing that will produce a draw.

I've seen a lot of the drills used in The "Draw" System, but this is the first time where I've seen all the drills tied together in order to produce the "whole" good swing. And I'm finally learning what a good swing should feel like, (after years of unsuccessful guessing), and can try to recreate that sensation on the course.

I enjoy playing golf more now because I can actually start aiming at where I want to hit the ball. And I'm having a lot more fun actually hitting a lot more often from the fairway!

A very good, useful book! Thanks for compiling all the information and drills to help me understand and incorporate the swing mechanics in order to produce a draw."
