“Fixing your slice might be the worst decision you ever make.”
Wait—what? Isn’t the slice every golfer’s nightmare?
That’s what I thought too… until I started seeing people destroy their game trying to fix it.
One of my friends was a mid-handicapper with a reliable (though ugly) fade. He became obsessed with “fixing” his slice—watched every tutorial, changed his grip, his posture, even bought a swing trainer.
Three months later? His confidence was shattered. He didn’t know where the ball was going.
Why? Because he didn’t understand what was actually causing his slice—he just chased fixes.
Here’s the truth: Not all slices are created equal. Some are a sign of bad mechanics, sure. But others? They’re just a slightly overactive clubface on a decent path—fixable with small tweaks, not swing surgery.
I’ve seen guys go from slicing to scoring better in two rounds, just by understanding their swing path—not reinventing it.
So yeah, “fixing” your slice can ruin you—if you don’t fix the right thing.
