TIP! Doing so enables you to determine your proper and most successful stance. Your stance is important, but since everyone is unique, it is impossible to to determine the proper stance without experimentation.

Are you unsure about the rules of golf? Does it seem confusing or even ridiculous to you? If so, maybe you could use some information to help clear up just why so many people make golf their passion. Read on to familiarize yourself with the basics of golf.

TIP! A good piece of advice for improving your golf swing is making sure you utilize your entire body for power. Amateurs often think that power comes from the arms alone.

For increased power in your golf swing, focus on involving your whole body in the swing. Inexperienced players believe that strength derives from their upper body, but using only your arms means your swing will be weak and awkward. Moving the whole body with the club motion is much more effective.

Sweet Spot

TIP! During a putt, position your left hand so that it’s in front of the ball when you address it. Maintain this position while you complete your swing.

Golf clubs have a point known as the “sweet spot.” If the ball is hit at this point, it will fly true. Work with each of your clubs to find this “sweet spot.” Once you do, contact the ball with the club’s sweet spot right at the end of your downswing.

TIP! A neutral grip will improve your game considerably. Gripping the club too tightly will send your shots careening to the right.

When getting ready to putt, look down and make sure your left hand is set a little forward of the ball before you strike it. Attempt to maintain the position for the duration of your swing. This will allow you to firmly grasp the club during the stroke and keep the ball from skipping off the club’s face at contact.

TIP! Hone your golfing skills by perfecting your stance. You have a better chance to get maximum distance if you maintain a consistent body position with your swing.

Be sure to drink enough water and stretch properly just like you would during any other sport. Properly warming up and maintaining your body will have an equally positive impact on your game.

TIP! If you are mentally prepared it can be very important, just as crucial as being in shape when you are golfing. You need to temporarily forget about all of your other problems and singlemindedly concentrate on the game at hand.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to know how to keep score. Your score is what is usually used to judge your ability as a player. Each time the ball is hit, it is counted as one stroke. The number of strokes you take to land the ball into a targeted hole will determine your score for that hole. Your goal is to land the ball with the least amount of strokes possible.

TIP! Intentionally pitting yourself against players at your own level can give your confidence a big boost. When you are first starting out, choose easy courses, and play with other beginners.

Don’t starve on the course, bring a small snack or high protein bar with you. Golf requires physical energy and mental energy. By enjoying a snack designed to keep you focused and energized, you will have a better chance to finish your round with gusto.

TIP! Stand about three or five feet behind your golf ball and view where you want it to go. Take time to incorporate variables for wind direction and other determining conditions.

When buying a golf club, you should get one that is custom-fitted for you. Golf clubs are not “one size fits all” and should be chosen with extreme care based off of style, physical aspects, and playing method. Finding a club that is fitted to your needs will help your swing.

TIP! Hit the ball squarely with the club’s face. Doing this will give you the best opportunity for a straight shot.

Don’t get caught trying to have an abnormal posture. One way to find a comfortable groove, is to practice different stances without using a club. Flex you knees, bend a bit at the waist, and have you arms fall easily in front of your body. Clasp your hands together as if you were holding the club. That is the natural stance you should take. If you feel awkward in this position, you are doing something wrong.

TIP! Before hitting the ball, inhale deeply. A deep breath will center your focus on the ball and calm your nerves.

As stated in the beginning of this article, golf can be quite confusing if you have never played before. You now have the information that you need about golf. Judge the sport on your own terms and give it a try, to see if this is a sport that you could get into!

Don’t just take our word for it!

Although the system is meant to improve your draw, in fact it has improved other areas of my game e.g. my setup and accuracy. I am now consistently hitting the ball cleanly and going in the direction I want it to. I think these are the benefits of the various drills and exercises you suggested.

The "Draw" System has narrowed the exercise and search for improving my game because everything is presented in a neat package without having to search all of them individually.

Being new to the game I did wonder why certain drills and exercises were recommended. In the end I did find out they were great. The instructions are explained very simply and easy to follow but as I said I did wonder initially what they had to do with trying to draw the ball. The answers came in the end.

I used to slice the ball badly before but now I can hit it straight or if it goes right it is not as bad as before, at least it still stays on the fairway. It is a great feeling to see that ball stay on the fairway."

"I have picked up golf seriously at the age of 43. The "Draw" System has enabled me to understand what goes wrong with what I do to a golf ball and make corrections. Having this knowledge has me playing with a 19 handicap after only playing for a short while. It helped me understand the game better.

When I started playing my shots landed anywhere except where I was aiming. I am now getting my shots to go where I am aiming more regularly. Just yesterday, I hit a 141-yard shots on a par 3 and it landed 6 feet away from the hole. Three months ago that would never have happened.

The instructions and the pictures are wonderful. The instructions are concise and descriptive. Combined with the pictures, it promotes easy understanding. The pictures help the most."
