Golfers know that having a great golf swing is the key to a successful round. It’s the foundation of the game, like a house without a strong foundation. Let’s look at how to work on your golf swing and start kicking some golf ball butt.

The first step to making a good golf swing is to get a strong, comfortable grip. Place your feet shoulder-width apart, and make sure your weight is distributed evenly. Your backswing should be a smooth turn of the shoulders and hips away from the target, and your arms should stay in line with your shoulders. When you reach the top of your backswing, your arms should form a “V” shape, and you should cock your wrists.

As you start the downswing, you want to keep your arms and wrists in the same position. Then your hips and shoulders should turn towards the target. As you approach the ball, your arms should start to straighten and your wrists should hinge forward. And don’t forget to follow through – finish in a balanced position.

Committing to mastering the golf swing will make you a better golfer. Don’t just jump to the advanced stuff, practice the basics – grip, stance, backswing, downswing and follow through. With dedication and effort, you’ll be hitting golf balls like a pro!
